First Berwick Blockwatch Meeting of 2016 a Success!

Blockwatch April 2016

Officer Garey Scott

We had almost 30 residents at the meeting.  TT Murph’s pizza was provided, as well as water and soda.  Our Community Liaison Officer, Garey Scott, gave a presentation on what steps to take to increase our safety from crime, such as:

  • installing motion sensing security lights
  • locking our vehicles even when parked in our driveways
  • informing our neighbors when they accidentally leave their garage doors open
  • alerting the Blockwatch coordinator (blockwatch-admin@614berwick.com) when suspicious activity is seen in the neighborhood

2015 BCA National Night Out a Huge Success!

As you may or may not know, “National Night Out” is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.  National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

That being said, this year’s Berwick National Night Out event was once again sponsored by the Berwick Civic Association and held on August 4th, 2015.  BCA Trustees Hannah Paschall and Kelly Heiby want to thank all of the Berwick neighbors who showed up on to the event, and all of the BCA trustees who volunteered their time and talents to make the evening so enjoyable!
