What is National Night Out?

It’s America’s Night Out Against Crime!

The “27th Annual National Night Out” (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2010 (Texas will celebrate on October 5th, 2010). We cordially invite you and your community

Last year’s National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 36 million people participated in National Night Out 2009.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Please join Berwick Civic Association to fight crime. It’s up to you and your neighbors. Get to know them and your surroundings. It’s good for you and good for them. Keep everyone safe!!

Neighborhood cleanup! Saturday, July 24th @ 9 AM

Join your neighbors for a neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, July 24th from 9AM until 11:30AM. The Civic Association will pick up litter and trash along our roadways. In addition, we will be mowing vacant yards. During the spring cleanup, we picked up over 30 bags of trash! Keep Columbus Beautiful provides litter grabbers, trash bags, gloves and safety vests – the only thing you need to bring is neighborhood pride! The cleanup is appropriate for all age groups. Hope to see you there!

When: Saturday, July 24^th from 9AM until 11:30AM

Meeting location: Meet in the parking lot of the new Berwick Alternative School

Every Wednesday evening 7:00 – 9:00 through August we are meeting our neighbors at the Tudor/Haddon Park. Bring your chair, munchies, drinks and enjoy conversation, laughs and just plain relaxing with your great neighbors!
